AL-HIKMAHUNIVERSITY SET TO HOST THE SECOND EDITION OF KU8 CONSORTIUM INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN AUGUST, 2024

Al-Hikmah University has received the right to host the second edition of KU8 Consortium International Conference in August, 2024. This cheering news was made known by the Chairman of KU8 and Vice-Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, at the closing ceremony of the maiden edition of the conference on Wednesday, 9th August, 2023, at University of Ilorin Auditorium.

The Maiden conference which was hosted by University of Ilorin between sunday, 6th to Wednesday, 9th August, 2023, drew over 400 participants from various Universities across Nigeria and other parts of the globe. The theme of the Conference was: Transforming University Education in the 21st Century: The Role of the Stakeholders. The Chairman at the opening ceremony was Dr. Engr. J. B.O. Adewumi, FNSE, the Proprietor of Thomas Adewumi University, Oko-Irese while the Keynote Speaker was Prof. I. O. Oloyede, OFR, the Registrar and Chief Executive of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Other eminent dignitaries at the opening ceremony included the Ooni of Ife, HRM, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II and the Emir of Ilorin, HRH, Alh. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, MFR (Royal Guests of Honour), Alh. Chief (Dr.) AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, OFR, Founder of Al-Hikmah University, Mr. Chris Maiyaki, Acting Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC) – represented, and Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, Executive Secretary, Universal Primary Education Commission (UBEC) – represented, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN and Barrister Adebayo Oba Adelodun, SAN (Special Guests of Honour), Prof. M. A. Akanji, FAS, former Vice-Chancellor, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin and Federal University of Technology, Minna and Alh. Jani Ibrahim, FNSE, CEO, LUBCON (paper presenters), Alh. Kamoru Yusuf, CEO, KAMWIRE Industries Ltd. and Mr. Akeem Oyewale, CEO, Capital Marble Ltd. (Awardees).

In his acceptance speech, the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Noah Yusuf, promised to ensure that the second edition of the conference is given utmost attention and required support.

Al-Hikmah University is the first Islamic Faith-based University in Nigeria, and a member of KU8 Consortium which comprises all Universities in Kwara State. Other Universities in the Consortium, apart from the University of Ilorin and Al-Hikmah University are: Kwara State University, Malete, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Ojaja University, Eiyenkorin, Summit University, Offa, Ahman Pategi University, Patigi and Thomas Adewumi University,  Oko-Oko-Irese.
