The Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Noah Yusuf hosted the KU8 Consortium for its third meeting held on Saturday, 1st April 2023 at the Adeta campus. KU8 Consortium – a conglomeration of the Universities in Kwara State was inaugurated on 11th January, 2023 at the University of Ilorin. Members of the Consortium are:6
- University of Ilorin;
- Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin;
- Kwara State University, Malete;
- Landmark University, Omu-Aran;
- Ojaja University, Eiyenkorin (formerly, Crown-Hill University);
- Summit University, Offa;
- Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, and
- Ahman Pategi University, Patigi
The main objective of the Consortium is to strengthen collaboration and partnership among all Universities in Kwara state in areas like staff/students exchange, research, joint conferences and workshops, experience sharing among others.
The Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Al-Hikmah University, Alh. Chief (Dr.) AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, OFR was at the meeting to offer prayers for members. One of the major highlights of today’s meeting was the proposed Maiden KU8 Consortium International Conference which is scheduled to hold between August 1 – 4, 2023 at the University of Ilorin.
