Historical Background

Dr. Alimi Olasunkanmi Maruf, an Associate Professor of Computer Science, specialized in Software Engineering. He has been lecturing at UDUS Sokoto since 1997 and visiting senior lecturer at KSUSTA, Kebbi State and UMYU, Katsina while working with ICT Department UDUTH, Sokoto. He rose to the level of Assistant Director (Programmer / Analyst) of ICT at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto before he fully joined Academics. On competency and skills, he has many Desktop Software developed and are in market till date, among them are Payroll, Patient Records, Cooperative Management Software, etc. He was, Ag. Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Director, Centre for ICT and Distance Learning (IDL) and Head of Department of Computer Science, Al-Hikmah University-Ilorin-Nigeria. He is a member of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Academia in Information Technology Profession (AITP) and Fellow, Institute of Policy Management Development (IPMD).
