Mr Abdulrasheed Olashile Koiki hailed from the Royal Paramount City of Ijebu Land – Ijebu Ode. He is a lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria with five (5) year experience in teaching and research. His lifelong educational voyage started with a foundation laid in Mabunmi Montessori Nursery and Primary School for his primary education; and Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode, for his secondary education from where he embarked on the path of knowledge acquisition. Venturing beyond familiar horizons, he pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Biology in 2012. Post-graduation, he furthered into the professional realm, gaining hands-on experience in administration and teaching through his engagement in Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, Zamfara State as a Lecturer during his National Youth Service, and subsequently as an ex-Principal and teacher at Subulu Salaam Islamic Model College, Ilorin, Kwara State. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, he furthered his education with a Masters Degree in Applied Genetics and Plant Breeding at the same university. This advanced academic pursuit allowed him to delve into specialized areas and contribute to research. He has imprinted his name on the sand of time in terms of meritorious years of service in laying formidable academic foundation, development of the school and building capacities both in staff and students; as well as championing the cause of morality and spirituality in the host communities. Subsequently, after few years of Civil Service as an Agricultural Research Officer at Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture, and then as an Associate Lecturer in Al-Hikmah University, he finally commenced his academic career in November, 2023 after landing a full time lecturing role in Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria as an Assistant lecturer. He has just started his Ph.D programme in his Alma mater. As an educator, he’s distinguished with effective use of student-centered approach to teaching of undergraduate courses in General Plant Biology as well as profound ability to teach courses in vast fields in Genetics and Plant Breeding. He is well adapted to state-of-the-art information and communication technology compliant lecture delivery techniques. He has the spirit of team player with enthusiasm in carrying out his duties towards realization of the goals of the team. He is currently the Departmental Examination Officer as well as the Academic Adviser, 100 Level Biology Programme.
