As part of efforts to strengthen agricultural development and contribute to food production and food security in Kwara State,
Al-Hikmah University, in collaboration with the Kwara State Ministry of Livestock and Agricultural Development, commenced the plantation of maize on a 3.5-hectare farmland on Tuesday, 4th of August, 2026, at the University’s Faculty of Agriculture, Igbaja campus.
The Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Lateef Oladimeji,
on the sidelines explained that the aim of the partnership is to grow the university’s farm and strengthen food production and food security across the state, and also promote agricultural innovations.
In his remarks, the Director of the Abdulraheem Oladimeji Centre for Entrepreneurship and Vocational Studies (AOCEVS), Dr. Salahudeen Olanrewaju, said that the project is expected to provide practical agricultural experience and learning opportunities for students while supporting the University’s broader commitment to entrepreneurship, vocational training and self-reliance.
