Historical Background

JIMOH, Ishola Dauda holds a Ph.D. from the University of Ilorin and currently he is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Al Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria. His research specialization is in Women and Men’s (Masculinities) History. Since 2006, he has been teaching African History and International Relations, with publications covering inter-disciplinary themes, such as feminism, patriarchal structures in Africa, hegemonic masculinities, marginalization and empowerment of women. Jimoh was Ag. Head of Department (2009-2011) and Ag. Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies (2016-2020). In 2017-2020, he was an elected Senate member of the University’s Governing Council (2017-2020). The don was previously a secondary school teacher of English Language, History and Government at different times. He is an author two books on English Grammar and Vocabulary respectively.Dr. D. I. Jimoh also has a work on poems and rhymes.
