Make digital transformation meaningful in imagining education.

The Vice-Chancellor, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Lateef Oladimeji, said this in his keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Biennial International Conference, being hosted by Al-Hikmah University, Faculty of Education.

Speaking on the theme “Re-imagining Education: Embracing Digital Innovation and Inclusive Practices for Complex Well-being in a Dynamic World,” Prof. Oladimeji cautioned that technology must not be introduced because it is fashionable but rather because it improves teaching, learning, research and community engagement.

The vice-chancellor pointed out that combining virtual learning environments, learning analytics, digital content, and emerging technologies with sound pedagogy and human presence must be given across educational levels. This, according to him, would give education its moral and relational character.
