The Governing Council of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, at the end of its 77th (emergency) meeting, held on Tuesday, 17th February, 2026, has approved the recommendations of the university’s Appointments and Promotions Committee (A&PC), under the chairmanship of the vice-chancellor, Professor Lateef Oladimeji, for the elevation of five (5) academic staff to the rank of full professor and twelve (12) academic staff to the rank of reader.
The newly promoted professors are Prof. Taiye Samuel Abejide, Department of History & International Studies; Prof. Aminu Abdul-Salam Atotileto, Department of Languages (Arabic Unit); Prof. Saidat Oluwatoyin Onikosi-Alliyu, Department of Economics; Prof. Tajudeen Adejare Adegbite, Department of Accounting; and Prof. Oluwayemisi Beatrice Ibitoye, Department of Biological Sciences.
Those promoted to the rank of reader are Dr. Uthman Tosho Abdulrauf, Computer Science Department; Dr. Hameed Olalekan Bolaji, Science Education Department; Dr. Semiu Olawale Makinde, Science Education Department; Dr. Rasheedat Modupe Oladimeji, Educational Management & Counselling Department; and Dr. Adeseko Sunday Olaifa, Department of Educational Management and Counselling.
Dr. Suleiman Yusuf of the Department of Educational Management & Counselling, Dr. Hamzah Abdurraheem of the Languages Department (English Unit), Dr. Abdur-Rauf Babalola of the Economics Department, Dr. Bolatito Amudalat Brimah in the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Azeez Tunbosun of the Business Administration Department, Dr. Abdulai Agbaje Salami of the Accounting Department, and Dr. Mansurat Bolanle Falana of the Biological Sciences Department were also elevated to the rank of Reader in Alhikmah University.
