Al-Hikmah University has emerged as the overall best Private University in Kwara State at the Award Night organised by Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), held at Banquet Hall, GRA, Ilorin on Friday, 5th July, 2024.

The victory was the result of a poll which was conducted by KWACCIMA and took over three months. The Vice- Chancellor of the University, Prof. Noah Yusuf was accompanied to the Award Night by the Management and other senior staff of the University which included Prof. G. A. Akashoro (Deputy Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Kazeem Oladimeji (Registrar), Mr. Hafis Omoniyi (Bursar), Prof. A.O.Y. Raji (Dean, Postgraduate School), Prof. L. F. Oladimeji (Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Dr. Sikiru Nurudeen (Director of Academic Planning). Also in the delegation were staff of the Information Unit and some selected students of the University.

Al-Hikmah University was established in 2005 by AbdulRaheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation ( AROIF) as the first Islamic faith-based University in Nigeria. From a modest foundation enrolment of 70 undergraduate students across three Faculties (Humanities and Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences and Management Sciences) in 2005, the University has since expanded monumentally to the current undergraduate students enrolment of over 6,000 and 2,500 postgraduate students spread across seven Faculties (Agriculture, Education, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Management Sciences and Natural and Applied Sciences).

Al-Hikmah University is currently preparing for her 20th Anniversary and 14th Convocation Ceremony which are scheduled for January, 2025. The twin events are expected to further project its rising profile as a citadel of quality higher education reputed for student-centred initiatives and accomplishments.
