@Landmark University, Omuaran
The Al-Hikmah University team was welcomed to the Exhibition Hall of Landmark University by the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charity Onye Aremu with her management team in attendance. The Landmark team consisted of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, the Dean of Postgraduate School, the Dean of Agricultural Sciences, and other eminent members of the academic community and heads of non-teaching Units.
Members of the Al-Hikmah University team were introduced by the Registrar, Dr. K.A. Oladimeji which included the head of the delegation, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Noah Yusuf; the University Librarian Mr. Akano; the Dean of Postgraduate School, Prof. A.O.Y Raji; the Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Prof. Okunola; The Dean of Agriculture, Dr. K.S. Olohunnishola; The Ag. Head Agronomy, Tajudeen Ajala; The Ag. Head, Animal Production, Mr. S.A. Adeyemi; A lecturer in the department of Animal production, Miss R.A. Adewole; The Ag. Director Academic Planning, Dr. Nurudeen; The Ag. Director, University Advancement Centre, Dr. I.I. Yahaya; The Ag. Director, Centre for ICT & Training Services, Bolaji Ogidan and representative of Works Department, Engr. N.G. Abubakar.
The Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Noah Yusuf, gave a brief on the activities of Al-Hikmah University and the over fifty (50) accredited academic programmes in the Institution. He went further to appreciate the openness and accommodating nature of Landmark Vice-Chancellor together with her Management team.
He emphasized the purpose of the visitation which was to collaborate with the Institution in the areas of research and entrepreneurship impact.
The Vice-Chancellor of Landmark University, Professor Aremu informed the gathering that the University was established in March 2011 with about 26 accredited academic programmes except Mechatronics which is due for accreditation. She explained that the Institution is guided by her Vision and Core Values which are encapsulated in Spirituality, Possibility Mentality, Capacity Building, Integrity, Responsibility, Diligence and Sacrifice. She informed the gathering that their students are trained to be solution providers and not job seekers.
Prof. Aremu also informed the team that the promotion of academic staff in their Institution is based on SCOPUS-based journal publications. He stated that the Institution subscribed to Elsevier courtesy of their Chancellor and all publications by the academic staff community on Scopus are paid for by the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo.
During the interactive session between the two Institutions, it was agreed that the two Universities could collaborate in the areas of research and publication; floating of community impact programme among secondary school students. In addition, The Dean of Postgraduate School of Landmark University sought for collaboration with Al-Hikmah University in the areas of Peace and Strategic Studies; collaboration in terms of postgraduate research; collaboration in terms of Enterprise, etc.
Information was also provided by the Dean of Agricultural Sciences that the College is supported by their Alumni Based.
The interaction ended with visitation to various Units in the Institution.
@Thomas Adewumi University, Oko-Irese
The Al-Hikmah University Team led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Noah Yusuf, was welcomed to the Senate Chambers of Thomas Adewumi by the Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Francisca Oladipo. In attendance with the Vice-Chancellor, Thomas Adewumi was the Registrar of the Institution, Dean, Faculty of Computing and Applied Science, Dean, Faculty of Management & Social Science, Dean, Student Affairs; Sub Dean, Faculty of Computing and Applied Science; Ag. Director, Directorate of Research, Innovations and Product Development; Ag. Director Physical Planning; Ag. Director, ICT, and other eminent members of the University community.
Members of Al-Hikmah University team were introduced by the Registrar of the Institution, Dr. K.A. Oladimeji accordingly.
In her submission, the Vice-Chancellor, Thomas Adewumi University, Prof. Oladipo, expressed gratitude for the visitation of Al-Hikmah University team to the Institution and expressed her willingness to work with the Institution in all identified areas for mutual benefit. She informed the team that her driving force has been Determination, Team Work and Self-sustainability.
Prof. Oladipo also gave information on the activities of the University in terms of project deliveries which include the following: (i) Waste-to-Wealth project, where they convert waste products to useful tools (ii) the powering of the entire campus through solar panel power generation (iii) Partnership with a Germany company to convert Bamboo trees to beneficial products (iv) Mounting of Senate approved TAU Global campus where external members of the University community can get certificate courses from their homes without necessarily coming to the campus for face-to-face interaction. The programmes are designed for ministries, parastatals, corporate bodies, and interested members of society.
Prof. Oaldipo further reiterated the need to work on global ranking of Universities which includes re-designing the SEO of the University website, enlisting of staff on Google Scholar and linkedln among other parameters.
The Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Noah Yusuf, thanked the TAU Vice-Chancellor for her openness and readiness to work with sister Institution as demonstrated by her submission. He expressed optimism that the two Universities will collaborate on issues raised and work together for the upliftment of society in the areas of teaching, research, community development, and entrepreneurial impact.
After the interaction, members of Al-Hikmah Team, were taken on a facility tour of the projects embarked upon by the institution among which are (i) Irrigation program for year-round water production for their agricultural products, (ii) A stop over at the Solar Farm which powers the entire campus among other areas.
The Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Noah Yusuf also commissioned the commencement of a fish farming project for the Institution.
