Historical Background

He was born in Port harcourt of rivers state, he had his primary and secondary school at Airforce primary school Kano and Command secondary school Kaduna. His first degree was at the University of Maiduguri, Borno state and he served (NYSC) in yenagoa, bayelsa state. He later proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he obtained his Masters in Geology (Applied Geophysics). He is happily married and blessed with Children.

Education

  • Mr. O.O Alu joined the Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences in December 2012 as an Assistant Lecturer. He became a lecturer II in 2016 and has now risen to the position of lecturer I since October 2018. He holds a BSc. In Geology and an MSc. Geology (Applied Geophysics) from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Ibadan in year 2006 and 2010 respectively. He is currently on his PhD as his research focuses on Environmental Geophysics and Hydro-Geophysics. Particularly in the area of integrating diverse data sets, including geophysical, geological, petrologic, and even geochemical studies towards solving geological and environmental problems. He has always been very effective and useful to the University community as he was appointed the Chairman, Committee of Level Advisers in 2017; he is the coordinator of the Al-hikmah University special marshal (a volunteer society) and the Team Lead for one of the Universities business ventures. He was a member of the Committee on the first virtual Convocation Ceremony of the University admist other membership of various committees across the University.

Research Interest

  • Environmental Geophysics and Hydro-Geophysics. Particularly in the area of integrating diverse data sets, including geophysical, geological, petrologic, and even geochemical studies towards solving geological and environmental problems.
