I commenced my University educational career in 1984 when I was admitted to Nigeria’s premier University of Ibadan to study Sociology where I graduated in 1986. I returned to the same University for my Master degree programme between 1990-1991 and bagged my PhD degree from the same University of Ibadan in March, 2003. On 3rd March, 1992, I was appointed as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, University of Ilorin where I rose to become a Professor on October 20, 2012. I delivered the University of Ilorin’s 151st Inaugural lecture on 20th of October 2014 titled “Work, Industry and Culture: The synergy that mirrors the reality of our everyday existence”. I was appointed as the Director, Centre for Peace and Strategies Studies University of Ilorin in July 2017. The post which I held until 13th of July, 2020 when I was appointed as the 5th Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin.
