Historical Background

In 1985, I was born in Kano State into Mr and Mrs Ibrahim Taoheed’s household. My father was a Mechanical engineer and my mother a trader. They were both from Ife-Olukotun, a village in Kogi State’s Yagba -East LGA. Kano State is where I grew up and began my education. My mother, a trader, was our lesson teacher, assisting with homework and, in most cases, solving mathematical equations. I grew up in a close-knit household that emphasized love and Islamic values. We relocated to Ilorin in 1991 after a communal crisis and i have been residing in Ilorin since then. I am Married to Engineer Ayinde Mohammed Usman from Ifelodun LGA in Kwara State, and our union is blessed with four children.

Education

My academic journey began in 1988 at the Muslim Community Nursery and Primary School in Kano State. When my family moved to Ilorin in 1991, I transferred to Abdul-Aziz Atta Nursery and Primary School, where I graduated as headgirl and top pupil in Quantitative Year 1997. I attended Unilorin Secondary School, Ilorin and completed my secondary education in 2003.I attended the University of Ilorin from 2004 to 2008, graduating with a B.Sc. Hons. in Microbiology before joining the National Youth Service Corps in Bauchi State. Following the completion of my NYSC program, I enrolled in a Postgraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Ilorin, from which I graduated with a Master of Science in Microbiology in 2011 and conducted research on the bioconversion of wastes into organic solvents. Year 2012, I enrolled for another postgraduate programme in Microbiology at the University of Ilorin and graduated with a Philosophy of Science in microbiology in 2023 and conducted research in Industrial and pharmaceutical Microbiology.

Research Interest
