DR QUADRI NURUDEEN REPRESENTS AL-HIKMAH UNIVERSITY AT THE ON-GOING WORKSHOP ON BUILDING CAPACITY FOR EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF CERVICAL CANCER AT FOUNTAIN UNIVERSITY, OSOGBO

Dr. Quadri O. Nurudeen, a dedicated staff member from Al-Hikmah University, arrived at Fountain University in Osogbo with a sense of purpose. He represents Al-Hikmah University at the vital workshop on building capacity for early diagnosis of cervical cancer.
Cervical cancer, a growth that starts in the cells of the cervix (the narrow end of the uterus/womb) that connects to the vagina, is one of the most common causes of cancer-related death among women.
However, an early diagnosis of precancerous lesions in the cervix before it fully blows into cervical cancer has numerous benefits that are not limited to the best chance for an increased and successful range of treatment, reduced cases, improved long-term survival, reduced deaths, and health care spending.
The workshop on building capacity for early diagnosis of cervical cancer, led by esteemed experts Dr Sara Pensa and Dr Francis Krampa from the University of Cambridge, England, promises to equip participants with cutting-edge techniques and bioimaging methods.
Dr. Nurudeen joined fellow participants of diverse groups of healthcare professionals, researchers, and scientists from various institutions with a common goal to combat cervical cancer.

The workshop’s hands-on approach and state-of-the-art facilities align with the tenacity of Dr. Nurudeen’s keen interest in acquiring new skills and knowledge.
Under the guidance of Dr Pensa and Dr Krampa, the participants delve into the latest advancements in cervical cancer diagnosis, and after day one of the workshop, Dr Nurudeen was already particularly fascinated by the bioimaging sessions, which showcased innovative techniques for detecting abnormalities.
He engaged in discussions, asked questions, and shared his experiences with colleagues, fostering a sense of collaboration and camaraderie among the group.
As the workshop progressed, Dr. Nurudeen felt a sense of hope and renewal, realising that the collective effort would have a profound impact on the fight against cervical cancer, particularly in Ilorin communities.
The workshop was not just a learning experience but a call to action, and Dr. Nurudeen was ready to answer!
Hence, with renewed determination, Dr. Nurudeen looks forward to applying the knowledge and skills gained in the workshop to making a difference in the lives of countless individuals.
