In a bid to promote the educational development and empowerment of the indigent, Senator Saliu Mustapha Foundation has instituted scholarship programme for qualified indigent youths in Kwara Central Senatorial zone with Al-Hikmah University as one of the benefitting institutions.
This cheering news was delivered by a visiting delegation to the University led by Prof. Binta Suleiman of Kwara State University, Malete, on Thursday, 4th April, 2024.
Welcoming the delegation to his office, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Noah Yusuf commended Senator Mustapha for his bold initiative on the educational advancement of teeming youths in his constituency.
Announcing the launch of the Scholarship Initiative, the leader of the delegation, Prof. Suleiman informed the Vice-Chancellor and other members of management in attendance that the initiative is in furtherance of the support of the Distinguished Senator to indigent NECO, WASCE and UTME candidates towards offsetting their examination fees. Beneficiaries of this programme are to be further sponsored for their University education in selected institutions in Kwara State, including Al- Hikmah University.
According to Prof. Suleiman, the initiative is not just about providing financial aid, it is also about investing in the future of our community, nurturing talent, and empowering the next generation of leaders.
She further stressed that the impact of the scholarship would contribute significantly to the upliftment of the educational status of youths in Kwara State.
In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Noah Yusuf, on behalf of the Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Alh. Chief (Dr. ) AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, OFR, commended Senator Mustapha for his bold initiative on the educational advancement of teeming youths in his constituency. He further thanked the distinguished Senator for his choice of Al-Hikmah University as one of the institutions for his scholarship programme.
In her contributions, Prof. Sylvia O. Malomo, Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, expressed appreciation to the distinguished Senator for embarking on the scholarship initiative. “I have been waiting for this moment, and I’m happy it’s finally here”, she said.
