Publication Ethics and Policies
- Plagiarism Statement
AJPAS maintains a strict policy against plagiarism. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and must not contain plagiarized content exceeding 10–20%, as determined by reliable plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Turnitin). Any manuscript exceeding this threshold will be rejected outright or returned for revision. All sources must be properly cited, and previously published work should be referenced appropriately. Self-plagiarism is also discouraged.
- Editorial Policy
AJPAS upholds the highest standards of editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, and the relevance of the work to the journal's scope, free from any influence from the journal’s owner or publisher. Authors must prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the Instructions for Authors of the journal. Manuscripts that do not follow the journal’s format and style may be returned for revision or rejected. The Journal reserves the right to make any formal changes and language corrections necessary in accepted manuscripts. All submissions are accepted with the understanding that authors have adhered to ethical standards of research and publishing during both the conduct of the study and the preparation of the manuscript.
- Ethical Statement
Authors must ensure that all research involving humans, animals, or sensitive data complies with international ethical standards (e.g., Declaration of Helsinki, IACUC guidelines). For studies involving human participants, authors must include a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained and that the research was approved by an appropriate institutional ethics committee. For studies not requiring ethical approval, a justification must be provided.
AJPAS adheres to the ethical guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and all parties involved in the publication process (authors, editors, reviewers) are expected to act with integrity and transparency.
- Use of Generative AI Tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.)
If generative AI tools were used to assist in writing, data analysis, or image generation, authors must declare their usage in a dedicated section of the manuscript (e.g., Acknowledgements or Methods). The use of such tools must be transparent, limited to non-critical intellectual contributions, and must not compromise the originality or integrity of the research. The extent of AI usage should not exceed 15% of the manuscript content. Final responsibility for the work lies with the authors.
Example Declaration:
“Portions of this manuscript were drafted with the assistance of OpenAI's ChatGPT, which was used for language refinement and formatting under the supervision of the authors. All scientific content and interpretations are original and the sole responsibility of the authors”
