About the Journal

Al-Hikmah Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences (AJPAS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria. The journal provides a platform for disseminating original scientific research, reviews, and emerging developments across all areas of pure and applied sciences.

AJPAS is committed to upholding international publishing standards and fostering interdisciplinary scientific exchange among researchers, academics, and professionals.

Scope of the Journal

Al-Hikmah Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences (AJPAS) is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal that publishes original research, reviews, and short communications across a broad spectrum of pure and applied sciences. The journal aims to advance scientific knowledge and foster innovation by providing a platform for scholarly exchange among researchers, academics, and professionals.

AJPAS welcomes high-quality submissions in, but not limited to, the following disciplines:

• Physical Sciences: Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, and Physics
• Geosciences: Geology, Mineral Science, and Earth Systems
• Biological Sciences: Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, and Plant Biology
• Mathematical Sciences: Pure and Applied Mathematics and Statistics
• Computer and Information Sciences: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, and Software Engineering
• Environmental and Agricultural Sciences: Environmental Science and allied fields in Agricultural Science

NB: The journal also encourages interdisciplinary research that bridges the gaps between these core areas.

 

Submission and Acceptance Deadlines:

1. Prepare manuscript adhering strictly to authors guideline.

2. Manuscripts accepted on or before 15th February will be included in the March issue.

3. Manuscripts accepted on or before 15th August will be included in the September issue.

AJPAS accepts submissions year-round, and authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts at any time for consideration in the next available issue.

Review Process

Submitted manuscripts will be evaluated by at least two reviewers to ascertain their accuracy, originality, quality and relevance. A manuscript may be accepted, returned for revision or rejected. The corresponding author of each paper will be notified of the result within eight (8) weeks from the date of first submission. Following acceptance, a paper will normally be published in the next issue of the journal.

Copyright transfer agreement

It is a condition of publication that manuscripts submitted to the journal have not been published, accepted for publication, nor simultaneously submitted for publication elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the author(s) agree that copyright for the article is transferred to the publisher, if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication.

Payment Schedule for Manuscript Processing

Thank you for choosing to submit your manuscript to our journal. To facilitate the efficient processing, peer-review, and publication of your work, we operate a two-stage payment model. Please find the details below.

 

1. Submission Fee (Non-Refundable)

Amount: ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira only).

Purpose: This fee covers the initial administrative handling, plagiarism checks, and the coordination of the peer-review process.

Due Date: This fee must be paid at the point of submission. Manuscripts will not be assigned for review until payment is confirmed.

2. Publication Fee (Acceptance Fee)

Amount: ₦30,000 (Thirty Thousand Naira only).

Purpose: This fee covers the cost of final copyediting, typesetting, layout, online hosting, and DOI assignment.

Due Date: This fee is payable only after your manuscript has successfully completed the review process and received a formal acceptance letter.

3. Payment Instructions
   All payments must be made via bank transfer or direct deposit into the account details provided below.

Proof of Payment

After completing the transfer, please upload the payment receipt/teller as part of your submission process or send a scanned copy to the editorial office email. Ensure the receipt clearly shows the depositor's name, amount, and date of transaction.

 Disclaimer: Please note that the submission fee is non-refundable regardless of the editorial decision (desk rejection or peer-review outcome). The publication fee is only applicable upon acceptance.
