The study assessed the model for library services provision and accessibility on user satisfaction.
The rationale behind the establishment of a library is defeated if its information sources and
services are not available, or if the users do not have access to, use of and be satisfied with the
sources and services provided. Several reasons have been attributed to the state of
dis/satisfaction of library users. However, documented evidence on services provided by the
library, which are accessible to the students to meet their needs, seems to be limited. Hence, this
study sought to correlate library services provision and accessibility for the satisfaction of users.
The main objective of this study was to theoretically assess the correlation of library services
provision and accessibility on the satisfaction of users. Relevant and existing theories on the
concepts in the present study were reviewed. Based on the theories reviewed and the existing
literature, the study concluded that, the independent variables (library services provision and
accessibility) correlated with the dependent variable (satisfaction). Hence, continual satisfaction
of library users is based on regular provision of services that are of good quality and easily
accessible in all formats. However, necessary facilities, regular training for both library staff
and users to improve staff-user relationship and accessibility were recommended.
