Organizational Structure

The various functions of the University Library are currently performed by the Office of the University Librarian, the Resources Development and Processing Division, the User Services Division, the Branch Library Services Division and the E-Library Services Division.

The Office of the University Librarian performs management functions, such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting and budgeting.

The Resources Development and Processing Division consists of the Resources Development Section and the Resources Processing Section. It handles all the activities relating to library acquisitions and processing.

The User Services Division comprises the References Section, the Circulation & Course Reserve Section and the Serials, & Government Publications Section. The Division handles all the services that involve direct interactions with library patrons, such as lending of materials, reference assistance, interlibrary loan, referrals and readers’ advisory.

The Branch Library Services Division coordinates the activities of the three off-site libraries in the University. The off-site libraries are the College of Health Sciences Library at at Adeta Campus, Law Library, the Education Library and the Management Sciences Library at Atere Campus and the Agricultural Sciences Library at Igbaja Campus.

The E-Library Services Division provides access to various digital resources. It comprises the System Maintenance & Network Management Section, the Digitalization Section and the E-Resource Development & Services Section.
