Abstract
The Coronavirus pandemic has surprised the world, and has caused more than 1.6 billion children and young people to drop out of education in 161 countries, i.e. nearly 80% of students enrolled in school worldwide. On the Nigerian level, schools, along with other governmental and private institutions were closed on Monday 23 March of this year, and this closure had negative effects on education in general, and on Arab-Islamic education in particular, as the latter was and is still suffering from multiple educational crises which will be discussed in this article. The researchers believe that the importance of the article lies in the attempt to uncover the negative effects of the pandemic on Arab-Islamic education and suggest solutions to combat it and limit its continuation. The research adopted the descriptive and analytical method which will be used exposing the phenomenon from all its causes; thus enabling it to be contained from the closest aspect. The essay’s promptness comes in the angle of teaching Arabic for special purposes, as it is an activation of the pioneering role of Arabic education in the Nigerian Islamic community.
