Abstract

Nigeria is blessed with vast non-oil products. Non-oil export presents humongous opportunity for entrepreneurship
growth along various value chains, employment generation, foreign exchange inflow into the country and enhanced
economic stability. This study reviews the impact of non-oil exporting firms on the economic development of
Nigeria from 2020 to 2025.  In this scoping review, 282 papers were downloaded from different databases: Scopus,
Web of Science, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Elsevier, Taylor and Francis. Evidence synthesized from the
reviews reveal that non-oil exporting firms have positively contributed to the economic growth of Nigeria but the
contributions are largely insignificant. To enhance the performance of non-oil sector, the study recommends that
government should provide better enabling environment, supply low cost funding and infrastructure that would
accommodate and support the production of non-oil goods and services for increased exports.
