Abstract

Early childhood represents a vital stage of development, where engaging, play-based learning experiences foster
lasting positive outcomes. Young learners are being raised in a world where Artificial Intelligence (AL) is deeply
embedded in daily life. This paper investigates how AI can support and augment creative and innovative learning
experiences for young children, fostering skills like problem-solving, critical thinking and imagination, examining
the benefits of AI integration in early childhood education, such as personalized learning, AI powered speech
development and predictive analysis, the challenges it presents, such as issues relating to data privacy and security,
equity and access and teacher preparedness. The paper recommends policy developments and guidelines for the
responsible use of AI in early childhood education. These policy recommendations include ensuring equitable access
to AI technologies for all children, regardless of their socioeconomic status, creating clear guidelines for how
children data collected by AI systems is used, stored, and safeguarded, governments and educational institutions
should prioritize investing in professional development programs to equip teachers with the necessary skills to
effectively integrate AI into their teaching, ensuring that AI integration aligns with educational goals, values and
principles.
