Abstract

This study explores Quranic teachings on anger management and conflict resolution, examining their principles,
historical applications, and contemporary relevance. Anger, a natural human emotion, can lead to detrimental
outcomes if uncontrolled, impacting personal relationships and community harmony. The Qur'an offers
comprehensive guidance, emphasising patience, forgiveness, and constructive dialogue. This research aims to
analyse Quranic verses and Prophetic traditions related to anger management and conflict resolution, assess their
alignment with modern conflict resolution strategies, and identify challenges in their contemporary application. It
addresses the problem of rising interpersonal conflicts and the need for effective, faith-based solutions in
increasingly interconnected societies. Findings indicate that Quranic principles, such as self-restraint (Surah Al
Imran 3:134) and reconciliation (Surah Al-Hujurat 49:10), align with modern mediation and restorative justice
practices. However, cultural norms and the impact of social media pose challenges to their implementation.
Recommendations include establishing community training programs on Quranic anger management, developing
support networks for conflict resolution, utilising technology for disseminating Islamic teachings, and promoting
interfaith dialogue. By fostering emotional literacy and aligning cultural practices with Islamic principles, Muslim
communities can cultivate a culture of peace and cooperation.
